Social Worker – Mental Health Review Team

An exciting ongoing opportunity is available for a Social Worker to join the Mental Health Review Team in Leicester, earning £34.00 per hour. This role is ideal for professionals seeking full-time or part-time work within statutory mental health social care. You will play a vital role in delivering mental health reviews, coordinating care, and supporting adults with mental health needs through recovery-focused, person-centred practice.

You will work collaboratively with NHS mental health services, Community Mental Health Teams, and partner agencies in a role that values risk management, safeguarding, and high-quality care and support planning.

What you will do:

  • Undertake Care Act assessments and reviews for adults with mental health needs.

  • Review and update care and support plans to promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing.

  • Monitor and manage risk, ensuring proportionate safeguarding responses.

  • Apply relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.

  • Contribute to statutory mental health processes and reviews.

  • Work collaboratively with Community Mental Health Teams, psychiatrists, nurses, and allied professionals.

  • Attend multi-disciplinary reviews, professionals’ meetings, and case discussions.

  • Identify and respond to adult safeguarding concerns in line with local procedures.

  • Complete risk assessments and contribute to protection planning.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records.

  • Work in line with Social Work England standards and council policies.

  • Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA / MA / DipSW).

Registration:

  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE) is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Post-qualifying experience within adult social care or mental health services.

  • Experience completing Care Act assessments and reviews.

  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary mental health teams is desirable.
