What you will do:
- Complete Regulation 24 assessments for connected persons and family members seeking temporary approval as foster carers.
- Undertake viability assessments, kinship assessments, and safeguarding checks to support permanence and placement planning.
- Assess risk, need, and protective factors in accordance with the Children Act 1989, Fostering Services Regulations, and statutory guidance.
- Respond to duty referrals, safeguarding concerns, and placement requests within required timescales.
- Prepare high-quality, analytical reports and recommendations for fostering panels, legal planning meetings, and management decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA, or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Successful completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) desirable.
- Evidence of continuous professional development within children's social care.
Registration & Compliance:
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, Fostering Services Regulations 2011, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Public Law Outline (PLO), Equality Act 2010, and Data Protection legislation.
