Role Overview

Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Disabled Children and Young People’s Team at Walsall Council.

This role involves supporting children and young people with disabilities and complex needs, working closely with families and multi-agency partners to safeguard and promote positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, alongside flexible working arrangements to meet the needs of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of disabled children and young people with varying levels of need
  • Undertake assessments, care planning, reviews, and statutory visits
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies
  • Safeguard children and promote positive outcomes through effective intervention and support planning
  • Prepare reports, assessments, and case recordings in line with statutory requirements
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, reviews, and planning meetings
  • Support children and families through child protection and safeguarding processes where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
  • Significant experience working within children’s disability services
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory social work responsibilities
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively within a multi-agency environment
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence required
