What you will do:
- Provide leadership, oversight, and support to a team of Social Workers engaged in statutory assessments and interventions such as Section 47 Child Protection inquiries and well-being assessments.
- Oversee pre-proceedings and court work when necessary, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Guide the team in completing timely assessments and identifying risks, whilst providing immediate support and intervention when needed.
- Facilitate the smooth transfer of cases requiring longer-term involvement to the Locality Teams for ongoing support.
- Promote proactive engagement with children and families on the edge of care, leveraging strengths and support networks to maintain family connections wherever feasible.
About You:
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker who is registered with Social Care Wales, with substantial experience in children's safeguarding services. You will have a knack for supervising and developing Social Workers and thrive within management or are ready to step into such a role. Your robust knowledge of statutory safeguarding responsibilities and court processes, combined with strong decision-making, leadership, and risk management skills, will be crucial. Remaining calm and objective in a fast-paced and complex environment while keeping a child-focused approach is paramount.
