What you will do

• Lead, supervise, and performance manage a team of Social Workers and Senior Practitioners within the Assessment Team.
• Oversee the assessment and care planning of children in need, children subject to child protection plans, and those involved in legal proceedings.
• Ensure statutory duties are fulfilled in line with the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and local safeguarding procedures.
• Manage the team's duty function, ensuring prompt allocation, screening, and progression of referrals.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Management or leadership qualification desirable.

Experience

• Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
• Proven experience managing or supervising frontline assessment or safeguarding teams.
• Experience of child protection, court work, and statutory interventions.

Registration and Compliance

• Current Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
