What you will do:
- Provide social work services to children and families living in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, ensuring that assessments are carried out using standardised formats
- Coordinate and contribute to services that support children in remaining within their familial environment, if appropriate
- Work as part of a dynamic and responsive social work team to meet the evolving needs of children from diverse social and cultural backgrounds
- Build relationships with children and their families to accurately assess their complex needs, advocating for them to ensure they receive appropriate support and services
- Participate in a specialist multi-professional team, delivering holistic assessments and acknowledging the diverse values and human rights of service users
- Offer complex psychosocial support for children and families facing challenging situations, providing advocacy and practical assistance where needed
Essential criteria:
- Recognised Social Work qualification, such as a Diploma or Degree in Social Work or CQSW, and evidence of postgraduate study in a relevant area
- Proven experience in integrated adult community services, with a valid driving licence
- A dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills, experienced in multi-disciplinary team settings where the Social Worker role is pivotal
- Able to adapt to changing practices, legislation, and team structures with flexibility and enthusiasm
- Skilled at managing complex caseloads, conducting various assessments, care planning, and leading in safeguarding investigations
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to assess information and present evidence-based conclusions
