Pay Rate: £31.50 per hour PAYE or £42.00 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Temporary
Contract Duration: 24 weeks

Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for experienced Senior Social Workers to join a Children & Families Team in Newport, Isle of Wight on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled children's social workers who are passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

The successful candidates will manage complex caseloads, undertake statutory social work duties, and work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to reduce risk and promote positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of children and families in line with statutory responsibilities and organisational procedures.
  • Undertake assessments, care planning, reviews, and direct interventions to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Complete Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need plans, Child Protection plans, and care proceedings work where required.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate, up-to-date case records.
  • Undertake visits to children and families in accordance with statutory timescales.
  • Work in partnership with children, parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to deliver effective support plans.
  • Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members where appropriate.
  • Ensure all practice is compliant with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and professional standards.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children through strengths-based and child-centred practice.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within children's social care.
  • Previous experience managing complex cases within a Children & Families, Child Protection, Children in Need, or Safeguarding Team.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
