What you will do:

Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Duty Hub, screening contacts and referrals, and ensuring threshold decisions are robust, consistent, and defensible

Lead on complex safeguarding decision-making, including Section 47 enquiries, strategy discussions, and immediate risk management actions

Offer practice guidance and consultation to Social Workers and partner agencies, promoting high standards of assessment and analysis

Coordinate multi-agency information sharing within a MASH environment, working closely with Police, Health, Education, and other statutory partners

Quality assure assessments, decision records, and referral outcomes to ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989/2004 and local procedures

Support service delivery pressures by contributing to duty rota, managing escalations, and ensuring timely responses to urgent safeguarding concerns

Contribute to audit, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement activity, supporting inspection readiness (e.g. Ofsted)
Person Specification:
Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)

Significant post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care
-
Practice Educator or leadership training is desirable
Registration & Compliance:

Registered with Social Work England
-
Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory guidance for assessment and intervention
