Senior Factory Manager

Location: Norwich
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

An established manufacturer is looking for a Senior Factory Manager to lead its production operation, deliver improvement projects and build a culture of quality, safety and accountability.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can keep daily production running effectively while making lasting improvements to how the factory works. You will lead managers and supervisors, bring teams together across departments and turn plans into measurable results.

The role

• Lead day to day factory operations, ensuring production meets customer requirements, quality standards and delivery targets.
• Plan capacity, staffing and resources to keep production running efficiently.
• Lead factory projects from planning through to implementation, keeping teams informed and results on track.
• Identify and deliver improvements in productivity, waste, cost and workflow.
• Use performance data to spot issues, take corrective action and measure the impact of changes.
• Coach and develop production managers and supervisors, setting clear expectations and supporting strong team performance.
• Work closely with engineering to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Partner with quality, procurement and health and safety teams to maintain standards and resolve operational challenges.
• Manage factory budgets and contribute to cost control and investment planning.
• Champion safe working practices and consistent compliance with company procedures.

What you will bring

• Significant experience managing a factory or large manufacturing operation.
• A track record of leading production teams and delivering targets in a busy environment.
• Examples of projects you have led that improved factory performance.
• Practical experience of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Strong people leadership, with the confidence to coach managers and address performance issues.
• Experience managing budgets, costs and operational priorities.
• A sound understanding of manufacturing health and safety, quality and compliance.
• Confidence using Excel and business systems to analyse performance and report on results.
• Clear communication and the ability to work effectively across departments.

• £65,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
