Stevenswood is looking for a friendly and proactive Branch Assistant to join its Perth team.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining customer service, sales support, administration and warehouse duties. You could be preparing a customer quotation one moment and picking an order for dispatch the next-all while helping ensure every customer leaves feeling “sorted”.

Your day to day

As a Branch Assistant, you’ll help keep the branch running smoothly and provide customers with excellent service from their first enquiry through to installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Looking after customers: responding to enquiries, assisting with customer accounts and keeping customers updated about orders, quotations and promotions.
• Supporting sales: preparing quotations using industry-specific software, explaining products and proactively contacting existing or lapsed customers.
• Managing orders and stock: picking stock, organising loads for dispatch and helping ensure goods are stored efficiently.
• Keeping information accurate: maintaining the customer database, accepting payments and supporting end-of-day banking and reporting.
• Maintaining branch standards: helping keep the branch organised, efficient, clean and safe.
• Working towards targets: supporting the achievement of branch KPIs and identifying opportunities to generate additional business.
• Supporting the team: helping new colleagues settle in and assisting the Branch Manager whenever required.

You’ll be approachable, dependable and committed to providing an excellent customer experience. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team and be equally comfortable dealing with customers and completing practical branch duties.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence discussing products and following up sales opportunities.
• Basic numeracy and computer skills.
• A willingness to learn about the company’s products, systems and processes.
• A safe, responsible and flexible approach to work.

Experience in customer service, retail, trade counter sales, sales support, warehousing or another busy branch environment would be helpful.

Pay and hours

The salary is £26,972.40 per annum for a 39-hour working week.

• Monday to Thursday: 7.30am to 4.30pm
• Friday: 7.30am to 3.30pm
• No Saturday or Sunday working
