Are you a passionate teacher looking to make a genuine impact within a specialist SEN setting?
A specialist all-age SEN school in Dalston is seeking a committed and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their team. The school supports pupils across both primary and secondary phases with Autism, SEMH, communication needs and complex learning difficulties.
This opportunity is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers from either primary or secondary backgrounds. The school offers a highly supportive environment with strong SEN leadership, specialist training and excellent long-term development opportunities.
The school places a strong emphasis on communication, emotional regulation, independence and personalised learning, with staff working collaboratively to create engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning and communication profiles
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider professionals
- Monitor and report on pupil progress linked to EHCP targets and learning plans
- Implement positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals
- Contribute to the wider school community and inclusive practice across the setting
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS or is currently completing ECT induction
- Has a genuine passion for SEND and inclusive education
- Can build positive relationships with pupils with additional needs
- Is calm, resilient and adaptable within a specialist environment
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- SEN experience is desirable but not essential
