What you will do:
• Conduct comprehensive fostering assessments of prospective foster carers and prepare evidence-based reports for presentation to the Fostering Panel.
• Recruit foster carers from a diverse range of backgrounds to meet the varying needs of children and young people.
• Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to approved foster carers, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of children in their care.
• Identify training and development needs and support foster carers in accessing appropriate learning opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with children's social workers to identify suitable placements and contribute to effective placement planning.
• Participate in safeguarding processes by investigating concerns and managing risks in partnership with relevant agencies.
• Attend and contribute to professional meetings, reviews, and multi-agency planning discussions.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with foster carers, children, families, and partner organisations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records in accordance with fostering regulations and organisational policies.
• Contribute to service development, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives within the fostering service.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience within Children's Social Care, preferably within fostering, family placement, or safeguarding services.
• Sound understanding of fostering legislation, regulations, standards, and safeguarding procedures.
• Experience completing fostering assessments, support plans, and professional reports.
• Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within multi-agency and multidisciplinary environments.
• Strong organisational and case management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
