What you will do
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to prisoners in line with NMC standards, NHS governance requirements, and local clinical policies.
- Perform reception screening and health assessments for new arrivals, pinpointing immediate healthcare needs and safeguarding concerns.
- Manage long-term conditions, minor illnesses, wound care, medication administration, and routine health clinics.
- Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies and incidents across the prison estate, ensuring the health and safety of the prison population.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) qualification with current NMC registration.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Immediate Life Support certification or willingness to obtain.
Experience
- Prior experience as a Registered General Nurse in primary care, community, urgent care, NHS hospital, or secure healthcare settings.
- Proven capability in managing complex physical health needs and vulnerable patient groups.
Registration and Compliance
- Maintain an active NMC registration without restrictions.
