What you will do
- Act as the first point of contact for Children's Social Care enquiries via telephone, digital channels, and face-to-face interactions.
- Conduct initial assessments, pre-screening, triage activities, and first-contact resolution in line with established guidelines.
- Provide accurate information, advice, advocacy referrals, and signposting to statutory, community, and preventative services.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately in line with local protocols and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of services and policies to provide excellent service and support.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Answer and manage a variety of enquiries and interactions regarding Children's Social Care.
- Carry out thorough assessments to determine the needs and next steps for callers and visitors.
- Offer precise information and guidance, making referrals to appropriate services.
- Responsibly address and escalate any safeguarding issues following predefined protocols.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience, with a qualification in Health & Social Care, Customer Services, Public Services, or a related discipline being desirable.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development is preferred.
Experience
- You’ll have experience in Adult Social Care, customer access, assessment, housing support, health services, or a public sector contact environment.
- Handling complex enquiries involving vulnerable adults and safeguarding concerns will be a part of your expertise.
