What you will do

• Perform venepuncture procedures accurately and safely, ensuring patient comfort at all times.

• Prepare, label, and handle blood samples in line with laboratory and clinical standards.

• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with policy and governance requirements.

• Apply strict infection prevention and control procedures across all clinical activities.

• Manage a busy workload efficiently, drawing on previous hospital or clinical experience.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, addressing questions and providing reassurance.

• Work collaboratively with nursing and medical staff to support high-quality patient care.

• Participate in mandatory training and updates to maintain clinical competence.

Essential requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Phlebotomist or HCA within a hospital or clinical setting.

• Proven competence in venepuncture and sample handling.

• Strong understanding of infection control and clinical governance standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
