Independent Social Worker – Form F Assessor
Location: Cardiff / South Wales (Applicants must live within 40 miles of Cardiff)
Pay Rate: £21.14 per hour PAYE | £27.59 per hour Umbrella
Assessment Rate: £2,250 per completed assessment
Contract: Temporary | Flexible Assignments | Inside IR35
Hours: Up to 37 hours per week
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for experienced Independent Social Workers to undertake Form F and Connected Persons Assessments within a fostering service in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled fostering practitioners looking for flexible assessment-based work while supporting prospective foster carers and kinship carers through the assessment process.
We are seeking experienced and confident assessors who are able to work independently, complete high-quality assessments, and present cases at fostering panel. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent report writing ability, and experience within fostering services.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete high-quality Coram BAAF Form F Assessments for prospective foster carers
- Undertake Connected Persons Assessments (CPA) for kinship carers
- Carry out face-to-face home visits as part of the assessment process
- Assess applicants’ suitability to foster or provide kinship care
- Prepare detailed, evidence-based reports for presentation to fostering panel
- Attend fostering panel meetings to present completed assessments
- Work collaboratively with supervising social workers and fostering teams
- Ensure all assessments are completed within agreed timescales and statutory frameworks
- Maintain accurate and professional recording throughout the assessment process
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Care Wales
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience within fostering services
- Previous experience completing Form F Assessments and/or Connected Persons Assessments
- Strong report writing and assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Must live within a 40-mile radius of Cardiff
Working Arrangements
- Flexible assessment-based work
- Face-to-face visits required within applicants’ homes
- Supervision and regular check-ins provided throughout assessments
- Attendance at fostering panel required (held on Wednesdays)
- Opportunities offered on an ongoing basis as assessments become available
