What you will do

Fulfil the statutory duties of the Independent Reviewing Officer in accordance with the Care Planning Regulations and IRO Handbook.
Chair Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews, ensuring plans are outcome-focused, timely, and centred on the child's needs and wishes.
Monitor the implementation of care plans, identify drift, delay, or unmet needs, and ensure appropriate escalation where required.
Ensure children and young people are fully involved in review processes and that their views are recorded, represented, and acted upon.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
Current registration with Social Work England.
Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children's social care and safeguarding.

Experience

Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
Experience of working with looked after children, child protection, and safeguarding processes.
