What you will do

  • Collaborate with Lead Clinicians and Band 7 colleagues to support patients with serious eating disorders.
  • Assess patient and family needs, devise care plans, and communicate these plans effectively in writing to all parties involved.
  • Participate in measuring treatment outcomes, maintain accurate clinical notes, and update on any significant clinical changes promptly.
  • Provide evidence-based treatments like Family Based Treatment, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Enhanced, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups as appropriate and manage clinic patients post assessment who aren't ready for treatment.
  • Support recovery processes with the team and care network while ensuring comprehensive risk assessments are completed.
  • Frequently report back on high-risk factors and therapeutic progress.
  • Manage your daily workload, balancing clinical tasks, administration, and supervision needs.
  • Attend team group supervision meetings and regular sessions with the Lead Clinician.
  • Assist in student placements and maintain professional competence through training and reading.
  • If qualified, work under Consultant Psychiatrists to prescribe and review psychotropic medications.
  • Participate and lead in urgent assessment rota and offer guidance to Band 5 clinicians.
