What you will do:

  • Deliver housing advice and options to customers at risk of homelessness, ensuring compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

  • Undertake homelessness assessments, assessing eligibility, priority needs, intentionality, and local connection under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.

  • Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) to proactively work with applicants in preventing or relieving homelessness.

  • Negotiate with landlords, family members, and other stakeholders to maintain tenancies or secure alternative accommodation.

  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring all statutory duties are met within the required timescales.

  • Make legally robust decisions and issue formal notifications in line with homelessness legislation and case law.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as housing management and safeguarding, as well as external agencies to provide comprehensive support for vulnerable individuals and families.
