KPI Education is currently recruiting Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis across primary schools in Bradford, BD1.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain practical classroom experience, develop their SEN knowledge and explore a future career in education. For the right candidates, successful supply placements can also lead to longer-term and full-time opportunities within schools.
The Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and SEN staff to support pupils who require additional learning, behavioural or emotional support.
You may be working on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or supporting pupils across the classroom, depending on the needs of the school.
The role offers flexibility throughout the Monday–Friday school week, making it ideal for graduates who want to gain school experience while maintaining some control over their availability.
Your Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN

Support pupils with their learning and classroom activities

Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons

Encourage positive behaviour and social development

Assist pupils in developing confidence and independence

Adapt your approach to meet individual learning needs

Work alongside class teachers and SEN staff

Support a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

Follow individual support plans and school procedures where required

Requirements
Essential:
-
Degree educated with a 2:1 or above

Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, reliable and proactive approach

Ability to build positive relationships with children

Commitment to working within a primary school environment
Desirable:

Previous experience working with children

SEN experience

Tutoring or mentoring experience

Experience working in schools, nurseries or youth settings

Voluntary or paid experience supporting children
