Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

Salary: £24,000 – £27,000 per year

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Leeds, L12.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience and develop a career within education, teaching, childcare or social care.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
Help pupils with their learning, development and confidence.
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Support classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
Assist pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
Help prepare classroom resources and activities.
Work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have a 2:1 degree or above.
Have graduated in a related field, such as Education, Childhood Studies, Childcare, Early Years, Social Care, Psychology or a similar subject.
Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people.
Be enthusiastic, patient, reliable and proactive.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be confident working as part of a team.
Have previous experience working with children or young people through employment, volunteering, placements or tutoring — desirable but not essential.
Be committed to supporting pupils' learning and development.

This role is particularly suited to graduates considering a future career in teaching, education, childcare, social care or a related profession.

DBS clearance and relevant safeguarding checks will be required.
