Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per year, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming early years setting in Ipswich, Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a 2:1 degree or above who is passionate about working with young children and looking to develop a career within education and early years.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Assist with engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
Support children's communication, development and wellbeing.
Build positive relationships with children and staff.
Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
Observe children's progress and provide appropriate support.
Work closely with teachers and experienced early years practitioners.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety and EYFS procedures.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Be a graduate with a 2:1 degree or above.
Have a genuine interest in early years education and child development.
Be enthusiastic, patient, caring and proactive.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be confident working as part of a team.
Have previous experience working with children, whether through employment, volunteering, tutoring or placements — desirable but not essential.
Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and children's wellbeing.

Previous EYFS experience is desirable but not essential, making this a great opportunity for a graduate looking to start or develop their career in education.

DBS clearance and relevant safeguarding checks will be required.
