What You'll Be Doing
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll support teachers and pupils across the school, helping children to engage with their learning and reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting class teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Helping pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
- Delivering targeted interventions to support individual pupil progress
- Supporting children who may require additional help with their learning
- Working with pupils with SEND and helping to remove barriers to learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, independence and resilience
- Assisting with classroom preparation, organisation and learning resources
- Supporting pupils during classroom activities, break times and other aspects of the school day
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
- Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive
What We're Looking For
We're looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about working with children and are serious about developing a career within primary education.
You'll ideally have:
- A First Class or 2:1 Degree - A degree in any subject
- A genuine passion for working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, positive and proactive approach
- The confidence to build positive relationships with primary-aged children
- A willingness to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders
- The motivation to develop your classroom skills and experience
- A genuine ambition to pursue a long-term career in education
- The right to work in the UK on a full-time basis
Previous experience working with children or within a school is beneficial but not essential.
