KPI Education is working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Barnet to recruit an exceptional Mathematics graduate for their salaried teacher training programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in teaching while earning a salary, gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and training within a supportive and academically ambitious school environment.

This route is ideal for high-calibre Maths graduates who are passionate about education and eager to develop into outstanding classroom practitioners through structured, hands-on training.

The Role

As a Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher, you will join a successful and well-established Maths department and begin developing your teaching skills from day one. You will receive expert mentoring and gradually take on increasing responsibility as you progress through your training year.

You will gain experience across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to Key Stage 5 depending on progress and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where appropriate)
  • Work closely with experienced Maths teachers to plan, deliver, and evaluate lessons
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support both high-achieving students and those requiring additional support
  • Develop and apply effective behaviour management techniques in the classroom
  • Track and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching practice
  • Observe outstanding practitioners and implement best practice in your own teaching
  • Participate in weekly training sessions focused on pedagogy, curriculum knowledge, and classroom management
  • Gradually take on full teaching responsibility throughout the training programme

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Mathematics education
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, resilient, and professional approach
  • A strong commitment to a long-term career in teaching
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work) is desirable but not essential
