What you will do:

  • Act as a named Case Officer, coordinating support for children and young people aged 0-25 across Newham, ensuring a smooth statutory EHC assessment process.
  • Support schools and educational settings with complex assessments, annual reviews, and the crafting of high-quality EHCPs.
  • Engage in multi-agency quality assurance procedures to ensure top-notch local practice.
  • Manage phased transfer processes within required timelines, reporting directly to the SEND Team Manager.
  • Maintain effective communication with families and partners, ensuring everyone’s voice is heard and respected.
  • Facilitate the appropriate placement of children in educational settings as per their EHCP, and assist with personal budget development.
  • Lead consultation exercises and attend key meetings to oversee the children's progression and planning needs.
  • Prepare cases for SEND panels and respond to changes promptly, ensuring decisions are actioned within statutory guidelines.
