What you will do:
- Undertake urgent mental health assessments for children and young people in crisis, including comprehensive risk assessments and meticulous safety planning.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and short-term intensive support, focused on stabilising immediate mental health concerns.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, engaging with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals for holistic care.
- Liaise effectively with external agencies such as schools, social care, GP practices, police, and emergency services to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Contribute to admission avoidance strategies and facilitate early discharge from inpatient services where appropriate, advocating for the least restrictive care.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Post-registration training in child and adolescent mental health (desirable).
Registration & Compliance:
- Current registration with NMC, HCPC, or Social Work England.
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Children Act 1989/2004, and NHS safeguarding frameworks.
- Understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance requirements.
