Adults Social Worker within the Older Adult Mental Health Team in Blackpool, earning £30.66 per hour. This exciting locum opportunity offers a 14-week full-time contract, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, commencing on 24th August 2026. Working within a fully integrated multidisciplinary team alongside NHS professionals, you will support older adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges, helping to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes through person-centred practice.

What you will do:
• Complete comprehensive Care Act 2014 assessments for older adults with mental health needs.
• Undertake detailed assessments to identify needs, evaluate risks, and determine appropriate interventions.
• Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans tailored to individual circumstances.
• Manage a caseload of complex cases, providing ongoing social work intervention and support.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure support arrangements remain appropriate, effective, and outcome-focused.
• Work closely with carers, families, and partner agencies to improve outcomes and support networks.
• Collaborate with NHS colleagues within the integrated Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.
• Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
• Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments where concerns arise.
• Promote independence, strengths-based practice, and least restrictive approaches in all areas of intervention.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case recordings, reports, and assessments.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and care planning meetings to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within Adult Social Care and/or Mental Health Services.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
• Experience completing assessments, care planning, and risk management interventions.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Commitment to strengths-based and person-centred practice.
