Independent Scrutineer Consultant within Children's Social Care in Cheshire. What you will do:

Ensure that children and young people are safeguarded effectively and that their welfare remains at the centre of all safeguarding arrangements.

Scrutinise multi-agency safeguarding arrangements to ensure they are effective, robust, and compliant with statutory guidance.

Collaborate with partner organisations and agencies to support a shared vision for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Provide appropriate challenge and hold agencies to account for their safeguarding responsibilities and performance.

Monitor emerging safeguarding trends, risks, and threats, ensuring that concerns are identified and addressed proactively.

Promote learning and continuous improvement across local services through review, evaluation, and reflective practice.

Support effective information sharing between partners to enable timely decision-making and positive outcomes for children.

Review safeguarding arrangements and quality assurance processes to identify strengths and areas for development.

Produce detailed reports, recommendations, and findings to support strategic decision-making and service improvement.

Attend partnership meetings, safeguarding forums, and other relevant events to provide independent scrutiny and challenge.

Contribute to the development of safeguarding priorities, policies, and strategic objectives across the partnership.
