Independent Scrutineer Consultant within Children's Social Care in Cheshire. What you will do:

• Ensure that children and young people are safeguarded effectively and that their welfare remains at the centre of all safeguarding arrangements.

• Scrutinise multi-agency safeguarding arrangements to ensure they are effective, robust, and compliant with statutory guidance.

• Collaborate with partner organisations and agencies to support a shared vision for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

• Provide appropriate challenge and hold agencies to account for their safeguarding responsibilities and performance.

• Monitor emerging safeguarding trends, risks, and threats, ensuring that concerns are identified and addressed proactively.

• Promote learning and continuous improvement across local services through review, evaluation, and reflective practice.

• Support effective information sharing between partners to enable timely decision-making and positive outcomes for children.

• Review safeguarding arrangements and quality assurance processes to identify strengths and areas for development.

• Produce detailed reports, recommendations, and findings to support strategic decision-making and service improvement.

• Attend partnership meetings, safeguarding forums, and other relevant events to provide independent scrutiny and challenge.

• Contribute to the development of safeguarding priorities, policies, and strategic objectives across the partnership.
