About the Role
KPI Education is seeking an organised, professional, and student-focused Student Services Administrator to join a thriving and successful secondary school in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames for the upcoming academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator or education professional looking to play a key role within a busy and supportive school environment. The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Student Services team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of student support, attendance, admissions, communication, and administrative functions.
The position is offered initially on an academic year contract through KPI Education, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff following a successful placement.
Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, teaching staff, students, parents, and external agencies, you will provide high-quality administrative support while acting as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for visitors and members of the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Student Services team.
- Manage student attendance, punctuality, and absence records in line with school procedures.
- Liaise with parents and carers regarding attendance, welfare, and student-related matters.
- Support the administration of behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral systems.
- Maintain accurate student records using the school's Management Information System (MIS).
- Assist with admissions, enrolment, transition, and leavers' processes.
- Coordinate student appointments, meetings, interventions, and communications.
- Respond professionally to enquiries from students, parents, staff, governors, and external agencies.
- Produce letters, reports, spreadsheets, and school documentation as required.
- Support the organisation of school events, educational visits, examinations, and enrichment activities.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and record management.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements at all times.
- Provide reception and front-of-house support when required.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and support school improvement priorities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a school, college, or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using school management information systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar platforms would be advantageous.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be located within approximately one hour's commute of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, either by car or public transport.
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and be able to provide relevant documentation.
- Be able to provide proof of address as part of the pre-employment compliance process.
- Provide two satisfactory professional references covering recent employment.
- Be willing to undergo all necessary safeguarding and compliance checks before commencing employment.
- Demonstrate a professional approach and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
DBS Requirements
Applicants who already hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service are strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates who do not currently hold a DBS on the Update Service can still be considered. KPI Education will provide support and guidance throughout the DBS application process before the successful candidate begins employment.
