Own Label Buyer / Development Manager
Location: Normanton (Hybrid - three days in the office, two days from home)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (flexible)
Salary: £40,000
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Own Label Buyer / Development Manager to take ownership of their own label range. This is a key role for someone who can combine creativity with commercial awareness, working independently to develop the portfolio and maximise profitability.
The Role
- Lead the development of own label products from concept through to launch.
- Build and expand the own label range, delivering growth in sales and profitability.
- Negotiate with suppliers on costs, quality and timelines.
- Ensure products are innovative, compliant, on-brand and commercially viable.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
- Approve samples, packaging and production sign-offs.
- Work with internal teams across Procurement, Marketing and Product Management to deliver the development plan.
- Ensure compliance with responsible procurement and regulatory standards.
About You
- Proven experience in product development or buying, ideally with own label/private label.
- Strong supplier negotiation and management skills.
- Highly commercial with an eye for product innovation and profitability.
- Organised and confident in managing multiple projects independently.
- Full UK driving licence essential, with flexibility to travel in the UK and occasionally abroad.
