Customs Operations Manager in Dover, South East
UK working eligibility only.
Our independent shipping Client offers a diverse range of transport services and UK customs clearance to customers throughout Europe. They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Customs Operations Manager to bolster the existing management team at their branch in Dover.
As Customs Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for mentoring and motivating the team of customs clearance staff, optimising the efficiency and performance of the business, whilst ensuring compliance.
We're keen to speak to customs professionals with managerial / leadership experience. Applicants should have a positive and engaging personality with a strong work ethic and be able to thrive under pressure.
In return, the successful Customs Operations Manager will be offered up to £60,000, in line with experience.
Duties include:
- Staff management (mentoring, motivating and supporting the team)
- Hands on Operations management
- Profit & Loss responsibility
- Problem solving where required
- Identifying areas to improve the efficiency of the business
- Key Account Management.
- Business development
- Generating and calculating quotations
- Compliance management
- Facilities management
- Attending the weekly operations / sales / management meetings
Experience / skills required:
- 10+ years customs clearance experience
- Management experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good organisational skills
- IT proficient (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
