Role Overview
Join Manchester City Council as a Locum Occupational Therapist within the Social Service Rehousing Team, based in the vibrant and diverse city of Manchester. This role presents a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals and families by supporting them to access appropriate housing and essential adaptations.

As part of a dedicated team, you will carry out in-home assessments, recommend and coordinate housing adaptations, and assist clients in finding suitable housing. This dynamic role involves both direct client interaction and inter-agency collaboration to achieve sustainable housing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed assessments in service users' homes to identify required housing adaptations

  • Match clients to suitable adapted properties and coordinate property viewings

  • Provide professional advice on rehousing options, including for complex and urgent cases

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure integrated support services

  • Manage and prioritise a caseload to deliver timely and positive housing solutions for residents

  • Produce accurate and timely reports, documentation, and recommendations in line with professional standards and council procedures

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

  • Experience working within social care or housing settings

  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills

  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to travel across Greater Manchester as required
