What you will do:

• Carry out detailed statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 to identify and address risks, ensuring children's safety and well-being.
• Develop and execute robust child protection and care plans, meticulously monitoring progress and conducting regular reviews to support positive outcomes.
• Engage directly with children and families, promoting a stable and supportive environment that encourages safety and positive development.
• Participate in complex court work, including the preparation of statements and detailed care plans, while competently providing evidence in family proceedings.
• Manage a diverse and challenging caseload, effectively balancing risk management with the provision of adequate support to secure timely and effective outcomes.
• Collaborate proactively with key partners such as health services, education, police, and legal representatives to facilitate comprehensive support for families.
• Contribute actively in child protection conferences, Looked After Children (LAC) reviews, and participate in dynamic multi-agency settings.
• Maintain precise and up-to-date case records through the council’s electronic recording systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Apply a strengths-based approach, focusing on the resilience and capabilities of children and families, to foster sustainable development.
• Ensure that all services comply with current legislation, statutory guidelines, and local safeguarding protocols to maintain the highest standards of practice.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement and development by mentoring less experienced staff or student practitioners as appropriate.
