Job Title: Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid working – 2 to 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £39.00 per hour

Role Overview:
An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team in Cambridge. This is a full-time locum role, offering flexibility through hybrid working and the chance to make a meaningful difference in safeguarding children and supporting families. Applicants must have court experience and prior work within a Family Safeguarding team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out statutory visits including CIN (Children in Need), CP (Child Protection) and CIC (Children in Care).

• Chair CIN and Core Group meetings, ensuring effective planning and communication.

• Manage a caseload covering CIN, CP and CIC cases, with potential involvement in PLO (Public Law Outline) and S31 Care Proceedings.

• Prepare and complete court reports, risk assessments and parenting assessments in line with statutory standards.

• Attend court, supported by a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager.

• Contribute to the duty rota to ensure effective team collaboration.

• Attend ICPC (Initial Child Protection Conference) and RCPC (Review Child Protection Conference) and provide detailed written reports.

• Assess and manage risks effectively, implementing robust action plans.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England (SWE).

• Previous experience within a Family Safeguarding Team.

• Proven court experience including preparation of court reports and proceedings.

• Strong assessment, risk management and report-writing skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment.
