Social Worker Advanced Practitioner – Fostering Team
Location: Exeter
Contract: Temporary, Full-time
Pay: Up to £38 per hour

Seven Resourcing are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join the Fostering, Supervision and Support Service in Exeter. This is a full-time, temporary role offering up to £38 per hour.

In this role, you will work closely with the Fostering South Team Manager, providing professional leadership and supervision to colleagues while supporting the day-to-day operations of the team. Alongside your leadership duties, you will hold a smaller but more complex caseload, undertaking in-depth assessments and working directly with children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Advanced Practitioner:

• Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and supervision to colleagues within the Fostering Team.

• Champion best practice in fostering and contribute to improving outcomes for children and families.

• Undertake a smaller but complex caseload, including detailed assessments and care planning.

• Support foster families in meeting the needs of children and young people with complex needs.

• Lead improvements in practice standards and challenge the quality of social care in a constructive and supportive manner.

• Share knowledge through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training for students and less experienced staff.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA/BSc/MSc in Social Work, CQSW, or DipSW).

• Registration with Social Work England.

• Substantial post-qualifying experience within children and families social work, ideally in fostering.

• Evidence of ongoing post-qualifying training and development.

• Strong knowledge of the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF).

• Ability to work holistically with foster families within a multi-agency environment.

• Proven skills in leading, supporting, and developing colleagues in social work practice.

• Enhanced DBS check.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
