What you will do:
- Represent the service and enhance its work in partnership with Birmingham Youth Justice Service, Children’s Services, Youth Justice Board, and the Judiciary
- Conduct youth justice assessments, ensuring the safeguarding of children and liaising with professionals and caregivers
- Oversee enforcement of Court Orders and present bail packages, ensuring quality and compliance
- Collect, manage, and analyse data in compliance with local protocols and national legislation
- Liaise with other agencies in the court process, presenting and disseminating Youth Justice Service information to Judges and Magistrates
- Advocate for equal opportunities and diversity, promoting diversion from the Court where suitable
- Coordinate remands to local authority accommodation, providing advice and guidance to professionals involved
- Lead in advocating for the needs of children in Court
- Prepare accurate placement information and post-custody assessments according to local standards
- Provide specialist advice to support the development of skills and knowledge across the Service
