Location: Milton Keynes Council Civic Offices
Salary: £38.00 per hour
Contract Type: Ongoing temporary contract with hybrid working options (three days per week in the office)
Role Overview
Milton Keynes Council is seeking a proactive Social Worker to join the Family Support North Hub Team 1. This is an ongoing role offering the opportunity to utilise your expertise in a community-focused position while benefiting from flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of children and young people under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children arrangements

Undertake comprehensive Children and Families assessments, including risk assessments

Develop, implement, and monitor care plans in collaboration with families and professionals
-
Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, reviews, and key meetings; chair meetings if required and experienced
-
Prepare detailed court reports and represent the Local Authority in legal proceedings

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including education, health, and police, to safeguard children

Maintain accurate case records, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

Participate in regular professional supervision and continuous professional development
Person Specification

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

Demonstrable experience in statutory social work with children and families

Strong communication, assessment, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure

Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes
