Are you a Psychology graduate eager to make a real difference in children’s lives? A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Leamington Spa is looking to welcome a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to their team from September 2025.
This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for those looking to pursue a career in educational psychology, mental health, SEN support, or teacher training. You’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting pupils—primarily in Key Stage 2—with their learning, emotional development, and wellbeing in a supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as autism, ADHD, and social-emotional challenges
- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to help pupils engage with learning
- Assisting in the implementation of behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Promoting mental health awareness and emotional resilience among students
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive environment
- Providing additional academic support in key areas such as literacy and numeracy
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for compassionate and enthusiastic graduates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology or a closely related field
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and emotional wellbeing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach
- Experience working with children or young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, youth work, SEN settings) – desirable but not essential
- A clear interest in careers such as educational psychology, teaching, counselling, or child development
