The Opportunity

Are you a recent graduate ready to take your first step into education? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leamington Spa is looking to appoint a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time, term-time only position offers the perfect opportunity for aspiring primary teachers to gain hands-on classroom experience across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You'll work alongside dedicated staff to support children’s learning, development, and overall well-being in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, including English, Maths, and Phonics
• Provide focused one-to-one and small group support to help pupils reach their full potential
• Assist with classroom setup, routines, and the smooth running of daily learning
• Work with pupils who have additional needs, including EAL (English as an Additional Language)
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and social interaction among students
• Get involved in extracurricular activities such as school clubs, trips, and events

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant - Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking enthusiastic and compassionate graduates who meet the following criteria:

• A minimum 2:1 degree in any subject (Education, Psychology, English or similar are advantageous)
• Previous experience working with children (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth groups, summer camps, Scouts/Guides, etc.) – essential
• A genuine interest in supporting the development of young children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A clear ambition to pursue a future career in primary teaching
