An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Adolescent Family Team in the London Borough of Lewisham. This locum position offers both full-time and part-time flexibility, allowing you to align your professional responsibilities with your lifestyle. Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver a high-quality, statutory social work service to children, young people, and their families through assessment, intervention, care planning, and review.

• Provide direct support to adolescents affected by extra-familial harm such as:

  • Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)

  • Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

  • Serious Youth Violence (SYV)

  • Missing from Home/Care cases

• Address the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of adolescents through trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.

• Lead on complex cases and provide support and guidance to less experienced practitioners.

• Work holistically with families to address interlinked safeguarding concerns and promote family resilience.

• Contribute to reflective practice, team development, and service improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally within adolescent, safeguarding, or family services.

• Strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable adolescents, particularly relating to exploitation and mental health.

• Ability to engage effectively with young people and families in complex circumstances.

• Confident in multi-agency working and delivering outcomes-focused interventions.
