Role outline:
As a part of the Family Support and Safeguarding Team, your role will be diverse and engaging. You'll work closely with children of all ages who are under a Child in Need Plan, Child Protection Plan, or have a Child and Family Assessment in place. Collaborating with various agencies, you'll manage and advance each child’s plan, aiming to foster positive changes within their home environments. Your responsibilities include coordinating, monitoring, and adjusting service provisions as needed, always with the goal of reducing risks and promoting safety. Supported by Team Managers, Family Support Workers, Social Work Support Officers, Advanced Practitioners, and Social Work Practice Consultants, you'll thrive in an expert-filled team. Our recent expansion to include early help case managers brings additional expertise to our collaborative efforts. Manageable caseloads are assured, with capped allocations at 20 children or 10 families. Court experience is essential to this role.
What you will do:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks
- Develop, implement, and review Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and Family Assessments
- Liaise with other professionals and agencies to ensure coordinated support and service delivery
- Monitor and record progress, adapting plans as required to respond to changing circumstances or needs
- Prepare detailed reports for court proceedings and attend court as necessary
- Provide guidance and support to families to promote their engagement and positive development
- Attend regular meetings with team members and other stakeholders to discuss cases and strategies
