What You Will Do

Chair statutory child protection reviews and reviews for children in care.

Monitor the progress of care plans and ensure they are outcome-focused and in the best interests of each child.

Provide independent oversight and critical challenge to improve the quality of services.

Offer guidance and resolution where concerns arise, ensuring children’s voices are central to all decision-making.

Maintain compliance with legislation, policy, and best practice frameworks.

Collaborate with social workers, managers, and multi-agency teams to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.
Requirements

Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.

Extensive post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, ideally as an IRO or in child protection roles.

In-depth understanding of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, and relevant statutory guidance.

Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
