About the Role – Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers to support students across Key Stage 3 to A-Level. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils develop subject knowledge, analytical skills, and an interest in both physical and human geography.
Your responsibilities as a Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant will include:
- Supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with their Geography studies
- Assisting with lesson planning, classroom activities, and resource creation
- Helping students improve in areas such as map reading, data interpretation, and geographical writing
- Monitoring student progress and tailoring support based on individual learning needs
- Encouraging student engagement through inquiry, discussion, and real-world geographical context
Who We’re Looking For – Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant
The ideal Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant will bring:
- A degree in Geography or a closely related subject such as Environmental Science, Urban Studies, or Geology
- A strong academic background and a passion for education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, proactive approach with the ability to motivate and support students
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
