Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Minimum £550 per week (term-time only)
Contract: Full academic year (September 2025 – July 2026)

Are you a Psychology, Criminology or Health & Social Care graduate?

Do you want hands-on experience supporting children and young people with additional needs?

Interested in education, social work, mental health, or SEN teaching?

This could be your ideal first step into a rewarding and impactful career.

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a Graduate School Support Worker to join a specialist SEN (Special Educational Needs) school in Westminster, working full-time from September 2025. This is an invaluable opportunity for a graduate looking to gain meaningful, school-based experience supporting children with a wide range of complex learning needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, and moderate to severe learning disabilities.

You will work closely with students who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing one-to-one support, small group interventions, and helping them access learning in a safe, structured and compassionate environment.

Some personal care support may be required for students with physical or complex medical needs (full training will be provided).

The School:

Located in the heart of Westminster, this welcoming SEN school is highly respected for its inclusive ethos, skilled staff, and life-changing impact on students. It caters for children aged 11–19, all of whom require specialist support to achieve their full potential.

Key features include:

  • A warm, supportive team of teachers, therapists, and teaching assistants
  • Tailored learning pathways focusing on emotional regulation, independence, communication and life skills
  • Access to excellent training and CPD, including safeguarding, behaviour support, and SEN-specific strategies
  • A calm, structured, and well-resourced environment

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Health & Social Care, or a related field
  • A genuine interest in working with young people with special educational needs
  • Resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach to support
  • A desire to pursue a career in SEN teaching, educational psychology, therapy, or social care
  • A proactive and team-oriented attitude

What You’ll Gain:

  • Minimum £550 per week (term-time only)
  • Exceptional practical experience in a specialist education setting
  • Mentorship and training from experienced SEN professionals
  • A strong foundation for careers in teaching, psychology, mental health, or social work

If you're ready to take your first step into an incredibly rewarding field — and make a real difference — we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a brief note on your interest in SEN education.
