Are you a recent English Literature or Language graduate with a love for storytelling, critical thinking, and supporting young minds? A welcoming and well-run secondary school in Watford is looking for a committed English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils in their journey toward strong literacy and communication skills.

This is a brilliant stepping stone into teaching, educational psychology, or school-based training routes like PGCE and Schools Direct.

 Key Responsibilities -  English Graduate Teaching Assistant

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll work closely with the English department to:

• Support learners across KS3 and KS4 with comprehension, writing, and vocabulary
• Run literacy interventions with small groups and individuals
• Encourage a love for reading and build student confidence in written and spoken English
• Help plan creative resources to reinforce classroom learning
• Provide extra support for students with additional learning needs (e.g. EAL or low prior attainment)
• Learn from experienced English teachers and observe outstanding classroom practice

 About You - English Graduate Teaching Assistant

We’d love to hear from English graduates who: English Graduate Teaching Assistant

• Hold a 2:1 or higher in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject
• Are passionate about supporting young people in education
• Communicate clearly and confidently with students and staff
• Have some experience working with children or teenagers (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering)
• Are considering a career in teaching, publishing, educational support or youth work
