Senior Practitioner - Children In Care Team – Walsall (£27.67 hourly, Ongoing)
Are you ready to embrace a dynamic role in the heart of Walsall? We are looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Children In Care Team. This locum opportunity offers an hourly rate of £27.67 and provides the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children in need. Initially a part-time role at 22.5 hours per week, this will progress to a full-time position, 37 hours per week, as maternity cover from the end of July. You’ll also benefit from a hybrid working arrangement, splitting your time between the office (up to three days each week) and the comfort of your own home.

What you will do:
- Manage a small caseload of children, offering your expert support and making life-changing decisions with their best interests at heart.
- Take part in reflective supervision for the family support worker, helping them develop and provide exceptional services.
- Work closely alongside the team manager to offer guidance, chair meetings, and ensure processes run smoothly.
- Carry out statutory visits to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in the service.
- Complete life journey work with children and young people, creating meaningful connections and helping them understand their past and present.
- Accurately record all case information, preparing detailed reports and evidence when required.
- Provide communication and mentorship to newer members of staff, fostering a supportive atmosphere within the team.
This role requires someone with strong communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience in child protection, child in need assessments, and compliance with DFE guidelines is essential.
