Role Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

  • Substantial experience in Children in Care or Looked After Children (LAC) teams.

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, statutory responsibilities, and safeguarding practices.

  • Confidence in court work and collaborative, multi-agency engagement.

  • Willingness to work within a hybrid model (office presence required for specific tasks and meetings).


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring their welfare, safety, and emotional well-being are prioritised.

  • Develop and review comprehensive care plans, working closely with carers, families, and professionals to support long-term stability.

  • Promote positive transitions and permanency outcomes, including placements, education, and therapeutic support.

  • Contribute to and attend court proceedings, team meetings, and planning reviews as required.

  • Maintain clear, timely, and accurate case records in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.

  • Offer support and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and reflective team culture.
