What you will do:

  • Undertake detailed and child-focused assessments under sections 17 and 47 of the Children Act 1989 to safeguard vulnerable children.
  • Manage a caseload of Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans, working closely with families and professional networks to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with families, offering advice, guidance, and intervention, empowering them to function more effectively.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring that all professionals are informed and working towards shared goals for the children in your care.
  • Supervise and mentor less-experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records in line with legislative and organisational requirements.


The role is based in Ipswich, but there may be opportunities to work flexibly in nearby locations, including Bury St Edmunds. With regular face-to-face working required (minimum three days per week in the office), you'll benefit from on-the-ground partnership with your team and access to comprehensive resources.
