We are seeking two experienced Specialist Practitioners to join Calderdale Council’s Emergency Duty Team. Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

• Current and valid Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status.

• Experience in emergency or crisis-based social care roles preferred.

• Willingness to work out-of-hours on a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide urgent assessments and crisis intervention for individuals and families requiring emergency support.

• Respond to emergency referrals outside standard working hours, working collaboratively with team colleagues.

• Fulfil your duties as an AMHP, including conducting Mental Health Act assessments.

• Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals, including police, healthcare, and housing services.

• Make sound and timely decisions under pressure, ensuring a person-centred approach to all interventions.

• Maintain clear and accurate case records in accordance with Calderdale Council’s policies and professional standards.
