Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake psychological assessments to identify and evaluate the educational needs of children and young people.

  • Provide professional guidance to parents, carers, educational staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

  • Produce clear and comprehensive reports aligned with statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) processes.

  • Serve as the named Educational Psychologist for a designated group of schools and settings, offering consultation and direct support.

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and maintain best practices in line with HCPC professional standards.

  • Apply person-centred approaches, actively involving children, young people, and their families in the decision-making process.

  • Contribute to the development and innovation of the Educational Psychology Service and the wider Specialist Advisory Teaching Team.
